Motion Designer, Social

Based in Philadelphia, PA (hybrid), the Motion Designer on the Social Creative Team at Athena Global Advisors will craft visually compelling video and motion content for social channels and contribute to the social motion style guide.

Responsibilities

• Produce visually engaging video and motion assets for social platforms
• Ideate and rapidly execute a high volume of content across multiple social channels using primarily in-house resources
• Reimage existing creative assets, b-roll, and photography for social media contexts
• Edit video and develop animated assets
• Contribute to creative brainstorms, kickoffs, and reviews with meaningful ideas
• Bring a post‑production perspective to shoots
• Storyboard and design assets as needed
• Help define and evolve the social media motion style guide while upholding brand standards
• Align work with the brand goals, strategy, and tone of voice
• Follow creative leadership on best practices, ideation, and execution
• Craft content that establishes measurable, impactful connections with target audiences
• Leverage performance metrics and insights from social and analytics teams to inform ideation and execution
• Stay current with social media trends to optimize creative performance
• Collaborate with teammates or work solo on rapid-fire requests, tight timelines, and longer-term projects
• Foster a collaborative, positive work environment that celebrates collective success
• Share design references and inspiration to elevate overall quality and outcomes

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of motion design, animation, and video editing experience
• Well-crafted visual assets for social media, whether in-house or agency work
• Strong portfolio showcasing video and social media work
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Firefly
• Experience with Figma
• Photography skills across mobile and DSLR, plus photo retouching and editing
• Deep familiarity with social platforms and best practices, formats, and capabilities
• Understanding of nuances between TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and other networks
• Self-starter with the ability to develop animation from ideation to execution
• Ability to produce content quickly while maintaining meticulous attention to detail
• Collaborative with a calm demeanor under pressure and openness to feedback
• Cultural savviness and awareness of moments and trends that enhance the work
