Manager, Product Designer
Job Description
Capital One Software seeks a Manager, Product Designer in New York, onsite, to lead the discovery and delivery of a premier B2B digital experience. The role collaborates with the Director of Product to enhance usability, customer empathy, and funnel performance while building a content-rich, searchable experience.
Responsibilities
- Apply advanced product design expertise across interaction, visual, and service design. In collaboration with cross-functional partners, determine the appropriate tools, platforms, frameworks, and design systems, and produce artifacts such as journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes.
- Direct design initiatives, assigning and overseeing work for junior designers, fostering partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders, and mentoring the design team to mature Capital One's product design practice.
- Balance partner needs with data, research insights, scalability, and technical constraints to deliver customer-centered and inclusive design solutions.
- Translate customer, competitor and market insights into a shared viewpoint that informs the team, partners and stakeholders.
- Leverage knowledge of technology, data capabilities and emerging technologies to guide work, accelerate delivery, and navigate technical constraints for impactful solutions.
- Foster collaboration across lines of business by leveraging a broad network of partnerships, incorporating cross-functional perspectives to bridge information gaps and shape product strategy.
- Communicate design work to diverse audiences, integrating frameworks, data and research to articulate a compelling point of view that informs senior-level strategic decisions.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating leadership, process, results and impact is expected.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 5 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- At least 6 years of experience in a Product Design role
- At least 6 years of experience in design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Experience working with and contributing to an established design system
- Experience collaborating with product, tech and business partners
- Experience leading design projects or teams
- Experience working in heavily regulated, data heavy problem spaces
