Lead Product Designer

Work from anywhere in the US with an employee-led remote model, lead high-impact product work, and use emerging AI tools as part of everyday design practice. This role offers a base salary of USD 137,445 - 231,000 per year plus performance-based bonus/variable pay and equity (for eligible roles), along with comprehensive health coverage, professional development support, and parental leave plans.

In this role, you will own design for strategic initiatives within a product area at Samsara. You will frame the problem, define the experience, and deliver across web and mobile, taking work from launch through iteration.

What you’ll do

• Lead large, ambiguous initiatives, starting with problem framing and carrying the work through launch and iteration.
• Bring strong judgement and taste to the work you ship.
• Engage regularly with strategic customers to bring customer voice and product data together in product decisions.
• Use AI tools at every step of the process and help define new ways of working.
• Stay current on emerging trends, tools, and technology relevant to design and product delivery.
• Ship code to production across the design system, web products, and mobile apps.
• Lead through building, not politics.

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years of product design experience delivering UX/UI for web and mobile applications.
• A portfolio with case studies showing how you handled an ambiguous, multi-part problem and what happened after shipping. Applications without a portfolio cannot be considered.
• Deep interaction and visual design skills, including the judgement to determine when to use established patterns versus inventing new ones.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in your regular design practice (for example, Cursor and Figma Make) and the ability to attribute shipped work to them.
• Experience mentoring designers, formally or informally.
• Direct customer research experience, with comfort using findings to drive product decisions.
• Experience shipping with cross-functional teams on short cycles.
