Job Description

Onsite in Philadelphia, this leadership role places motion design at the heart of a major music company, shaping how artists come to life across campaigns and digital touchpoints. You will define motion principles, build scalable systems, and steer execution that elevates brand storytelling for artist campaigns, e-commerce experiences, and digital products, while collaborating closely with Creative Directors and cross-functional teams.

  • Salary: USD 72,660 - 135,000 per year
  • Experience: 5-8 years in motion design, animation, visual design, digital experiences, or related creative disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end motion design across campaigns, e-commerce experiences, content initiatives, and digital products
  • Define principles, standards, and approaches for motion design across the organization
  • Build scalable motion systems that support artist storytelling and brand expression
  • Ensure motion design enhances user experience, engagement, and creative impact
  • Champion motion throughout the creative development lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Creative Directors during concept development and experience design phases
  • Contribute motion-first thinking to briefs, presentations, and campaign development
  • Create storyboards, motion explorations, prototypes, and visual concepts
  • Translate static concepts into engaging motion-based experiences
  • Explore innovative storytelling through animation and movement
  • Produce high-quality motion graphics and visual content across multiple channels
  • Develop content for artist campaigns, e-commerce experiences, social content, product launches, and branded storytelling
  • Lead motion assets from micro-interactions to large-scale campaign experiences
  • Apply 2D, 3D, compositing, visual effects, and emerging technologies where appropriate
  • Ensure all motion deliverables meet high creative and technical standards
  • Collaborate with Designers, Content Producers, Developers, Editors, and Creative Directors
  • Support development teams in implementing motion experiences across digital products and platforms
  • Partner with Content Production teams to integrate motion into content ecosystems
  • Ensure motion execution aligns with project objectives, timelines, and technical requirements
  • Serve as a motion design subject matter expert across the organization
  • Drive the evolution of motion design capabilities within Digital Creative Services
  • Research emerging technologies, tools, platforms, and creative opportunities
  • Explore AI, real-time rendering, interactive motion, 3D, and immersive experiences
  • Mentor designers and creatives looking to strengthen motion capabilities
  • Contribute to the development of creative standards, workflows, and best practices

Requirements

  • 5-8 years in motion design, animation, visual design, digital experiences, or related disciplines
  • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating motion-led storytelling and creative problem solving
  • Advanced proficiency in After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and related motion tools
  • Strong understanding of animation principles, visual storytelling, design systems, and user experience
  • Experience across campaigns, ecommerce, content production, digital products, or entertainment environments
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Passion for music, culture, design, emerging technology, and creative innovation
