This is a virtual, full-time role working remotely from your home office, with occasional travel for meetings, trade shows, and training. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers, supporting work from research through implementation while strengthening your problem-framing, design craft, and user empathy.

What you’ll do

  • Apply structured problem-framing with guidance, articulating the problem a design solves beyond the solution itself
  • Participate in discovery sessions with PMs and the Engineering Lead, contributing a user-centered perspective
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation that communicate intent and support decision-making
  • Practice distinguishing user requests from underlying user needs
  • Design interaction flows, interface layouts, and components aligned with the design system
  • Deliver designs that cover the full range of states, including happy paths, error states, empty states, loading states, and edge cases
  • Design for fluid viewport sizes and device types
  • Use design system patterns consistently and help drive iterative improvements
  • Support user research activities such as usability tests, interviews, and discovery sessions alongside senior designers
  • Shadow Support troubleshooting and Member Success training sessions to learn how attorneys use the products
  • Review support tickets and feature requests to identify patterns and inform design work
  • Actively learn your product area by using the product, reviewing support tickets, and asking how features connect
  • Understand attorney workflows within your assigned product area
  • Collaborate with engineering on implementation feasibility while building awareness of technical constraints and opportunities
  • Review release notes and change logs to understand what changed and why
  • Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional team rituals
  • Incorporate critique feedback effectively and iterate quickly
  • Work closely with the Senior Product Designer and Manager to evolve the design system and pattern library
  • Communicate design rationale clearly to PMs and Engineers, including explaining why

What you bring
