Job Description
Universal Music Group is seeking a Junior Motion Designer to contribute to motion content across artist campaigns, storefront experiences, and digital marketing initiatives within a collaborative Creative Pod. This onsite role in Philadelphia, PA offers a chance to grow your craft in a fast-paced, music-driven environment while helping shape engaging visuals that support brand storytelling and performance.
Location: Philadelphia, PA (onsite). Salary: USD 54,000 β 75,000 annually. This opportunity is geared toward early-career motion designers with at least one year of experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and delivering motion content for artist campaigns, storefront experiences, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Operate within a Creative Pod and contribute to platform-ready motion assets that enhance storytelling and commercial results under the guidance of a Senior Motion Designer or Motion Lead.
- Collaborate with Digital Designers, Creative Directors, and Content Production teams to translate approved creative direction into dynamic visuals.
- Focus on craft development, growing technical skills, and delivering high-quality motion work within structured creative systems.
- Support an early-career trajectory in a fast-paced, collaborative setting, contributing to culturally relevant, music-driven digital experiences.
- Execute motion assets across social, CRM, paid media, storefront, and campaign touchpoints.
- Animate typography, layouts, and graphic systems created by Digital Design teams.
- Assist in building motion toolkits and adaptable templates to enable scalable campaign rollouts.
- Help adapt creative concepts into platform-specific formats and aspect ratios.
- Collaborate with Senior Motion Designers to refine pacing, transitions, and visual hierarchy.
- Integrate video, photography, and graphic assets into cohesive animated outputs.
- Prepare files for delivery across digital platforms, ensuring technical compliance.
- Maintain organized project files and follow established workflow standards.
- Incorporate feedback from Creative Directors and design leads with clarity and precision.
- Stay informed on evolving motion trends, tools, and cultural shifts in digital content.
Requirements
- 1β3 years of motion design experience, internship or professional.
- Proficiency in Adobe After Effects with working knowledge of Premiere Pro.
- Solid foundation in typography, composition, and visual hierarchy.
- Basic understanding of animation principles including timing, easing, and pacing.
- Experience creating motion content for social or digital platforms.
- Ability to take direction, iterate quickly, and learn in a collaborative team environment.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Passion for music, culture, and digital storytelling.
- Curiosity about emerging motion techniques, formats, and tools.
