Graphic Designer - Brand Design
Job Description
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is seeking an emerging graphic designer to join its Brand Design team. This hybrid role helps shape how visitors experience exhibitions and institutional initiatives through accessible, cohesive visual communications across physical and digital touchpoints.
In this position, you will design brand communications that support everything from exhibition graphics and wayfinding to marketing materials and digital products. You will work with cross-functional colleagues and external creative partners to ensure consistent craft, clarity, and usability across print, environmental graphics, and UI experiences.
Responsibilities
- Design brand communications across print, digital, environmental, and social media.
- Support exhibition graphics, including wayfinding, title walls, donor recognition, and other environmental graphics.
- Contribute to visitor experiences, public activations, partnerships, and experiential design projects.
- Create digital assets, wireframes, and UI layouts in Figma, applying user-centered and accessible design principles.
- Produce production-ready files for print, fabrication, motion, and digital publishing.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Curatorial, Editorial, Marketing, Communications, Visitor Experience, Retail, and Exhibition Design, as well as external creative partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field.
- 1+ year of professional design experience (including internships or equivalent freelance work).
- A strong portfolio showing typography, branding, editorial, and digital design.
- Excellent attention to typography, layout, and production detail.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects), Figma, and Microsoft 365.
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience working in museums and cultural institutions.
- Knowledge of environmental graphic design, accessibility standards, motion graphics, and basic front-end workflows (HTML/CSS).
- Ability to think beyond individual deliverables to create cohesive brand experiences across physical and digital touchpoints.
- Collaborative, detail-oriented, curious mindset with commitment to exceptional craft and thoughtful problem-solving across projects of every scale.

Hybrid eligible, with hours varying based on position.
Salary: $68,958.50 annually (USD 68,958 - 68,958 per year).
Schedule, Environment, and Demands
- Ability to travel within the metropolitan area as required to perform duties at Guggenheim-owned or leased properties upon request.
- Occasional outdoor work with exposure to varied weather conditions.
- Occasionally work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

- Full-time, Exempt
- Covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with Local 2110 UAW
- Reports to the Director of Design
