Digital Designer
Job Description
The Digital Designer role at Rivers Agency is based onsite in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This position focuses on applying UX principles to refined visual design across web, email, and other digital channels, spanning from early wireframes through to production-ready assets and handoff to developers.
Responsibilities
- Create on-brand websites and digital experiences from concept through to launch.
- Design and produce work for email, digital advertising, and social channels.
- Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to communicate structure and intent.
- Contribute to web architecture discussions regarding site structure, navigation, and content hierarchy.
- Build and maintain component libraries and design systems, keeping files organized for production.
- Prepare comprehensive handoff documentation and assets for development teams, detailing interactions, responsive behavior, and design intent.
- Collaborate with developers throughout the project lifecycle to ensure accurate translation of designs into builds.
- Operate under the guidance of Strategy, Art, and Creative Directors across all stages of design and production.
- Assist in presenting work to clients and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of professional digital design experience within an agency or studio.
- Portfolio showcasing creative web design, solid UX understanding, and experience across the full design lifecycle including production and handoff.
- Experience designing for email and other digital channels such as display advertising or social content.
- Experience building component libraries or design systems.
- Understanding of web architecture and experience collaborating closely with development teams.
- Strong eye for layout, typography, and detail.
- Proficiency in wireframing and prototyping across both low-fidelity and high-fidelity approaches.
- Organized, production-focused approach to file management and delivery.
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and accessibility best practices.
- Familiarity with UX frameworks or structured design methodologies such as OOUX is a plus, though not required.
- Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and handoff workflows.
- Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Interest in AI-powered creative tools and willingness to integrate them into daily workflows.
