Job Description

This onsite Creative Services Graphic Design Coordinator role is based in Tampa, Florida, supporting Shriners Hospitals for Children.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver creative outputs that meet marketing and organizational goals, crafting innovative, medium-appropriate visual solutions and, where feasible, packaging assets for system-wide distribution.
  • Design projects such as newsletters, logos, advertisements, brochures, posters, folders, and other marketing collateral; materials are produced for system locations in multiple languages and updated as content and visuals evolve.
  • Collaborate across departments to develop branding concepts and produce marketing materials.
  • Provide digital graphic design and layout for print, video, and web applications using graphic design software; continuously develop new concepts, graphics, and layouts.
  • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas professionally; incorporate stakeholder feedback and secure final approvals.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of all projects.
  • Determine print specifications and act as liaison between the design team and print shops at HQ or external vendors; troubleshoot production issues with internal teams and vendors.
  • Develop campaign-specific material suites across multiple media aligned with campaign goals.
  • Contribute to design strategies by creating artwork to support promotional and public-relations efforts of healthcare locations and related fraternal allocations.
  • Design instructional and informational print media to improve communication between medical staff, healthcare professionals at system locations, patients, and parents.
  • Assist in producing presentation graphics and research posters for national meetings.
  • Retouch photographs, adjust color, size assets, and apply effects in line with brand standards.
  • Ensure all collateral undergoes required reviews and obtain approvals before distribution.
  • Maintain the visual identity and brand standards for Shriners Children’s and Shriners International.
  • Keep identity standards relevant to organizational values, goals, and objectives; uphold consistency of the creative tone across materials.
  • Develop and distribute location- and program-specific brand asset sets for system-wide use.
  • Collaborate with headquarters staff, location teams, Shriners International staff and members, and vendors to ensure proper visual identity communication and usage.
  • Provide brand standard education and instruction to staff, vendors, and affiliated third parties as appropriate.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of design team functions and workflows; stay current with design software, platforms, and trends.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively to promote teamwork with clients and vendors; deliver timely, clear, concise, and accurate updates.
  • Participate in department meetings, design team sessions, one-on-one check-ins, performance-improvement activities, HR courses, and required competencies.
  • Follow leadership decisions and accept constructive feedback on projects when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by adjusting to new situations and trying different approaches; accommodate last-minute requests when necessary while prioritizing workload.
  • Deliver projects within established parameters and deadlines; regularly update supervisor on workload and progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned with a proactive, positive attitude and report completion to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of related field experience.
  • Expert proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, and Photoshop.
  • Strong working knowledge of Mac systems and hardware.
  • Solid photo editing capabilities.
  • Experience reviewing printer proofs and conducting press checks.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Visual Arts, or Graphic Arts.
