Job Description

Zachary and Elizabeth M. Fisher is seeking an Assistant Graphic & Web Designer to support creative and digital marketing efforts from their New York, NY (onsite) office. This role helps keep marketing campaigns moving while bringing new visual ideas to web, social, email, and fundraising materials.

In this position, you will partner closely with the Creative Marketing Manager, supporting day-to-day design needs, maintaining web presence, and contributing digital content that strengthens engagement. What you’ll do

  • Assist in implementing web and digital strategies using current technologies and best practices, including social media marketing and communications.
  • Support design creation for web content and create compelling visual assets for web, social media, fundraising campaigns, and print.
  • Maintain assigned website sections and program platforms, including ALZinfo and subsidiaries, and help design and implement engaging web content, graphics, and landing pages.
  • Support SEO efforts by updating metadata, refining images, and improving content structure.
  • Analyze website user trends, traffic patterns, and site analytics to recommend improvements.
  • Monitor site security and performance and help with prompt content updates; troubleshoot basic website functionality or formatting issues.
  • Create and prepare multiplatform exports, variations, and design files for web and other channels.
  • Assist with scheduling, task management, and project tracking for creative initiatives, including keeping digital files and asset libraries organized and presentation-ready.
  • Coordinate communication with vendors, freelancers, and internal teams; support budgeting tasks such as gathering quotes and tracking invoice submissions.
  • Prepare meeting notes, follow-ups, and help ensure deadlines are met.
  • Provide event support as needed, including digital materials, signage, and photography needs.
  • Support social media strategy execution designed to build engagement and fundraising activity, including creating graphics and video clips tailored for social platforms.
  • Help build and distribute enewsletters and outbound email campaigns, including maintaining and segmenting email lists, tracking performance, and recommending optimizations.
  • Edit, proofread, and occasionally contribute short-form content or articles for publication.
  • Bring fresh ideas and creative concepts to design meetings and collaborate with the program team to align with project timelines and production calendars.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of graphic design experience (nonprofit or agency experience preferred).
  • Working knowledge of web development skills: HTML, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, XML.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), PowerPoint, and video editing tools.
  • Experience with CMS, SEO, digital marketing, and social media best practices.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for visual storytelling.
  • Comfort assisting with analysis of website user trends and implementing changes based on that analysis.
  • Openness to train other team members if needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Asana preferred.
  • SharePoint, Dropbox, and Salesforce experience is a plus.
  • Comfort using phone systems (e.g., Yealink) and platforms such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Working setup

  • Standard 40-hour workweek, Monday–Friday, with a one-hour lunch and arrival no later than 9:00 AM.
