Job Description
Universal Music Group’s Fame House Digital Creative Services team shapes how artist stories show up online, from storefronts to e-commerce experiences. In this onsite role in Santa Monica, the Creative Director owns the creative vision and leads brand expression, art direction, and UX/UI across artist merchandising and commerce initiatives, guiding work from early concept through launch.
This position focuses on building best-in-class digital storefronts, campaigns, and commerce ecosystems by aligning brand identity, content, UX, and scalable creative frameworks. The role supports multidisciplinary teams while helping partners across labels, artists, managers, and internal stakeholders stay aligned to a shared direction.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the overarching creative vision for artist stores, brand system implementation, and e-commerce experiences.
- Set and maintain a clear visual and experiential direction across UX/UI, digital design, content, and campaign touchpoints.
- Oversee the integration of brand identity, art direction, content, and UX to deliver seamless, engaging storefront experiences.
- Lead creative development of artist stores, ensuring visual storytelling, navigation, and content work together intuitively.
- Establish and evolve creative frameworks, design systems, and experience principles that scale across projects.
- Partner with insights and research teams to translate fan behavior, performance data, and learnings into creative strategy.
- Refine creative approaches using results, cultural trends, and emerging digital best practices.
- Act as a trusted creative partner to labels, artists, managers, and internal stakeholders through clear, confident communication.
- Balance artist expression, brand integrity, UX best practices, and commercial objectives.
- Oversee projects from inception through launch, guiding multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-impact creative work across brand, usability, and commercial performance.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of experience in e-commerce digital creative direction.
- Deep experience in either fashion e-commerce or music, with both preferred.
- Focus on building immersive experiences rather than producing decks.
- Understands creative production as a team sport and fosters collaboration.
- Strong obsession with digital experiences.
- Understands how function supports form, and emotion drives action.
- Works at the intersection of fashion and music.
Salary
$96,660 - $140,000 per year
Minimum experience: 5 years
