Job Description

aboutGOLF is offering remote, ongoing hourly contract work for a UI/UX Designer to help shape polished, modern visual experiences across its golf simulator ecosystem. You will produce implementation-ready designs and assets for developers, collaborating directly with product and engineering teams as you iterate based on feedback.

What you’ll be creating

This role spans a variety of customer-facing interfaces, which may include simulator launchers, touchscreen experiences, web and mobile applications, game menus, dashboards, overlays, controls, and other interactive product surfaces. The work is focused on design not front-end development.

Responsibilities

  • Create polished UI designs, layouts, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups.
  • Design responsive experiences for desktop, touchscreen, portrait, landscape, web, and mobile interfaces.
  • Define clear visual hierarchy, intuitive navigation, and consistent interaction patterns.
  • Develop reusable components and support a shared design system.
  • Produce implementation-ready designs and visual assets that developers can build.
  • Improve and modernize existing product interfaces while maintaining consistency across the broader aboutGOLF ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams, incorporate feedback, and iterate quickly.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in UI/UX or digital product design.
  • A strong portfolio that shows polished interface design and your specific contribution to the work presented.
  • Strong visual design skills, including typography, color, spacing, composition, hierarchy, and iconography.
  • Experience designing responsive products across multiple screen sizes and orientations.
  • Proficiency with Figma or a comparable professional interface design tool.
  • Ability to translate product requirements and rough concepts into developer-ready designs.
  • Comfort working independently as an hourly contractor, with reliable communication and estimates.

Tools and technologies

Figma, Unity, Unreal Engine

Nice to have

  • Experience designing game UI, launchers, kiosks, sports products, touchscreen applications, or interactive entertainment.
  • Experience with mobile applications and responsive web products.
  • Motion-design or interaction-prototyping experience.
  • Familiarity with Unity or Unreal Engine, or practical constraints of implementing designs in software.
