Communications Analyst (Visual & Graphic Design)
Job Description
Remote Communications Analyst (Visual and Graphic Design) focusing on visual communications for UN Women Regional Office for the Arab States, with a master’s degree and at least two years of professional experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for visual communications across the UN Women Regional Office for the Arab States, its country offices, and headquarters.
- Ensure brand consistency by guiding communications teams to follow established visual guidelines.
- Advise Arab region country offices and headquarters on global branding assets and products.
- Lead creation of assets for campaigns, international days, and advocacy efforts, adapting designs for print and digital formats.
- Support design and layout work for studies, manuals, toolkits, policy briefs, booklets, newsletters, reports, leaflets, bulletins, flyers and infographics in line with corporate branding.
- Create new and refresh existing social media banners, cards, and content to reflect branding guidelines.
- Contribute to the conceptualization and development of visual identity and branding for UN Women communications products.
- Conceptualize and produce engaging, user-centered social media materials to boost visibility of publications and events.
- Contribute to innovative design layouts and high-quality visuals for publications, factsheets, policy briefs, and other regional office materials.
- Design presentations, infographics, brochures, posters, and reports, along with other communication assets as needed.
- Design and layout UN Women Regional Office reports and other publications for digital and print delivery.
- Assist with shooting and editing short in-house videos for social media use as required.
- Collaborate with the WPS Unit, Regional Communications Team, and other units to ensure consistent messaging and a unified visual identity across materials from the WPS/HA team and the Regional Office.
- Adapt global visual assets for multicultural contexts and maintain language consistency across materials.
- Ensure brand compliance and production quality when working with external designers or vendors, providing guidance as needed.
- Support improvements to internal document management systems and knowledge repositories as required.
- Perform other duties within the functional profile as needed for the efficient operation of the Regional Office and the Organization.
Requirements
- A master’s degree (or equivalent) in graphic design, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field is required.
- Alternatively, a first-level university degree plus two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
- Minimum two years of professional experience in graphic design, communications, media operations, or advocacy materials across multiple media (print, video, websites) at national or international level.
- Experience producing social media friendly videos from concept to publication on digital channels.
- Experience creating media-facing visual assets and press or event visibility materials.
- Proficiency in graphic design and video editing using tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Canva, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience taking a concept through production to a published or printed product, with knowledge of printing processes.
- Experience with international organizations or the UN system and familiarity with UN branding guidelines is desirable.
- Experience using AI-assisted design tools in an ethical and guideline-compliant manner is desirable.
- Experience related to gender equality, women, peace, security, and humanitarian affairs is desirable.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
