Brand & Design Director
Job Description
Chase Oaks Church is looking for a Brand & Design Director to guide the organization’s visual expression across communications, campaigns, and on-site environments. In this onsite Plano, TX role, you will lead design direction, strengthen brand consistency, and build scalable systems that help internal teams and outside contributors deliver high-quality creative work.
Role focus
- Shape the organization’s visual expression by ensuring created materials are clear, compelling, and consistent
- Provide creative leadership across campaigns and environments while supporting organizational strategy
- Protect and thoughtfully evolve the organization’s visual identity
- Build scalable design systems so designers and creative contributors can execute high-quality work efficiently
Responsibilities
- Maintain and elevate overall visual brand and design quality across all communications
- Lead creative direction for major campaigns, sermon series, events, and organizational initiatives
- Develop design systems, templates, and standards to improve consistency and efficiency
- Manage freelancers and creative volunteers through feedback and direction
- Design high-impact creative pieces and campaigns when needed
- Collaborate with communications, content, video, and ministry teams to align creative work with strategy
- Lead projects from concept to completion while maintaining strong communication across teams
- Foster growth and development among creative contributors and external partners
Required skills and experience
- Strong visual design and art direction skills
- Ability to lead creative projects and teams effectively
- Strong understanding of branding, typography, layout, and visual storytelling
- Ability to give clear, constructive creative feedback
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Strong organizational and project management abilities
- Ability to balance creativity with clarity and strategic objectives
- Self-motivated approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience in graphic design, art direction, or brand leadership
- Experience leading or mentoring designers, freelancers, or creative contributors
- Portfolio demonstrating strong design execution and creative thinking
- Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative environments preferred
- Church, nonprofit, agency, or mission-driven organization experience preferred
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, Marketing, or related field preferred
Communication and tools
- Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone
- Ability to present information and respond to common inquiries regarding Chase Oaks ministries
- High attention to customer service
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Familiarity with presentation, collaboration, and project management tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook calendaring and email
- Basic knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of motion graphics, video, or web design tools preferred
Physical and work environment
- Lifting 5-10 pounds is an occasional but essential requirement
