Job Description

TrueLoyal is building modern experiences that help brands and customers connect through community and loyalty. In this fully in-office role in Downtown San Antonio, an Associate Product Designer will own design and ongoing management for one of two flagship product surfaces: UGC & Community or the Loyalty Platform. The work spans discovery, rapid prototyping with AI-assisted tools, pod delivery and QA, and contributions to design systems and documentation.

Role focus

  • Own design end-to-end for your assigned product surface (UGC or Loyalty), covering the admin console, the member-facing experience, and the visual system that brings them together.
  • Drive work through the full product cycle, with discovery inputs, prototypes, delivery support, and quality checks before release.
  • Contribute to the visual language and component library across the relevant surface (Advocacy or Loyalty).

What you will do

  • Join customer calls with brand operators and translate conversations into actionable design input (social and community managers for UGC; loyalty program managers and CRM leads for Loyalty), using AI tooling to accelerate synthesis.
  • Create wireframes, hi-fi mocks, and working prototypes in Figma and AI-assisted tools such as v0 and Claude Design (including Figma AI).
  • Collaborate directly with engineers in your pod through delivery; run design QA on staging, file bug reports, and partner on fixes prior to release.
  • Maintain product documentation, write release notes, and support Customer Success with enablement materials.
  • Adopt a mission-critical mindset, including learning how the team supports customers when issues come up.
  • Help build and maintain the backlog for your surface, working with the VP of Product and Product Owner to size and sequence design work and advocate for what ships next.

Prototype + communication expectations

  • Prototype interactions comfortably, not only static screens.
  • Use strong written communication to take meeting notes, create clear tickets, and explain design decisions.
  • Enjoy prototyping in code is a plus.

Requirements

  • 0–2 years of experience in product design, UX, or interaction design (internships, freelance, and capstone projects count).
  • A portfolio of student work, internship work, or personal projects demonstrating design thinking and visual craft.
  • Working fluency in Figma.
  • Daily use of AI tools in your design workflow, including one or more of: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, v0, Claude Design, Figma AI, or similar.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Two seat options:
    • UGC seat: social-media native who lives on TikTok and Instagram, understands creator and community dynamics, and can explain differences between social products.
    • Loyalty seat: interest in game economics, gamification, progression systems, behavioral incentives, and the mechanics that keep people returning.
  • Strong plus signals:
    • For UGC: running a community yourself (Discord server, club, creator collective).
    • For Loyalty: having designed a gamification or economic system you can discuss.
