Art Director
Job Description
Pattern is hiring an Art Director in a hybrid role based in Lehi, Utah. The position leads the development and execution of e-commerce creative strategies and creates visual assets that support partners across multiple channels.
Role Summary
In this role, you will provide data-backed creative direction spanning design, photography and video, web, packaging, and production workflows. You will oversee concept development, art direction through final production, and the delivery of presentation materials for pitching ideas to brand executives.
Responsibilities
- Apply creative expertise to identify problems and develop data-driven solutions
- Oversee and assist in designing visual content that aligns with client style guides
- Direct and support a team of designers to execute visual concepts through final production
- Present work to brands, delivering a strong design point of view supported by data-driven strategy
- Own large-scale production projects involving hundreds of deliverables
- Develop and create presentation materials to pitch concepts to clients
- Provide art direction and participate in photo and video shoots, including shot lists, production, and styling
- Develop comprehensive, detailed creative briefs for production projects
- Lead and mentor junior team members to build design skills
Requirements
- BFA degree in Graphic Design or a related field
- 4–7 years of progressive professional graphic design experience, including at least 2 years in a senior role
- Advanced typography skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Google Suite, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy, quality, and organization
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects in a fast-paced environment
- Styling interest or experience is a bonus
- Creative strategy or e-commerce conversion optimization background is a bonus

You will work alongside full-time Art Directors, Graphic Designers, Writers, Photo and Video Directors, and other creative team members. First 30 / 60 / 90 Days
- 30 Days: Become familiar with brand partner needs, build strong relationships with team members, and establish a comfortable workflow
- 60 Days: Coordinate the team’s efforts and pitch ideas to brand partners
- 90 Days: Hold regular mentorship sessions with each team member, incorporate feedback from brand partners, and contribute to revenue growth through optimized creative assets
