Job Description
StudioMax Design is seeking a full-time mid-to-senior Art Director for a hybrid role in the Tampa area. The position focuses on leading visual concept development and delivery across branding, campaigns, digital experiences, and video or social, while keeping production aligned to client goals and quality standards.
Role Overview
This Art Director role manages day-to-day creative execution across multiple concurrent projects. You will collaborate with strategists, writers, and developers, mentor designers, and help ensure consistent brand application across all touch points. The work also includes presenting direction, incorporating client feedback, and supporting internal efforts that strengthen the StudioMax portfolio and new business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead visual concept development and execution across branding, campaigns, digital experiences, and video and social campaigns, ensuring alignment with client goals and creative quality standards.
- Develop creative concepts from initial direction through polished deliverables.
- Support ad hoc graphic design requests for both print and digital materials.
- Oversee photo and video direction as needed for campaign deliverables.
- Collaborate closely with strategists, writers, and developers to deliver cohesive brand solutions.
- Manage multiple projects for multiple clients with consistent attention to timelines and priorities.
- Work hand in hand with the Creative Director and other studio colleagues to maintain brand consistency across touch points.
- Work directly with clients at times to incorporate feedback into final production.
- Support mentoring designers, manage creative project timelines, and contribute to internal initiatives focused on improving StudioMax portfolio assets and new business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated Art Direction experience, with a strong portfolio showing concept development and campaign execution across multiple mediums such as digital display, print, social, video, and web.
- Solid background in Branding, including brand identity systems, logo development, and application across digital and print channels.
- Advanced Graphic Design skills, including typography, layout, color theory, and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design tools, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and PPT) and Google Suite.
- Bonus proficiency in relevant motion or editing platforms is beneficial, though not required.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary creative projects from brief through delivery, ideally in a studio or ad agency setting.
- Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain design rationale to clients and teammates.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Tampa Bay Area while managing multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities.
- Familiarity with digital design best practices (web, social, and video content) and an understanding of brand strategy is highly beneficial.
Location and Schedule
Northdale, FL (hybrid). The role is full-time.
Compensation
USD 65,000 - 80,000 per year.
