Job Description

Based in Minneapolis, this onsite Art Director role at SixSpeed centers on shaping the visual language that defines client campaigns. You will generate concepts, lead cross-functional teams, and steward projects from concept through production to ensure distinctive, engaging brand communications. A strong portfolio and hands-on experience in brand advertising or marketing are essential, with compensation between USD 70,000 and 90,000 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the visual language of a project or campaign to ensure consistency, distinctiveness, appropriateness, engagement, and clear communication
  • Collaborate with copywriters to generate a broad range of ideas and concepts
  • Lead the collaborative visual development of projects by guiding teams, producers, and partners from start to finish
  • Concept and execute across all mediums with meticulous attention to detail and visual precision
  • Stay aware of cultural and industry trends to deliver fresh thinking and looks for clients and the agency
  • Develop shot lists, treatments, and capture vision; present the plan with producers and account partners to clients
  • Travel to direct photo and video shoots to ensure the vision is met and the shotlist is captured
  • Select image assets post-capture and provide retouch direction to partners, presenting for approval with account teams to clients
  • Research and understand clients' needs, brands, products, audiences, and competition
  • Identify, recommend, and select vendor partners (photographers, retouchers, video production houses, editors, sound mixers, illustrators, etc.)
  • Foster positive working relationships with all team members, vendors, and clients
  • Provide clear, timely, and constructive feedback to improve creative output and processes while keeping projects on budget and schedule
  • Articulate vision, ideas, and concepts to peers and clients, listening and reacting to feedback appropriately

Requirements

  • 2-5 years as a visual creative in a brand advertising or marketing environment
  • Passion for powersports and adventure
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating the ability to craft campaigns driven by audience insights
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; familiarity with Lightroom, Bridge, and Premiere
  • Critical thinker with attention to detail, motivated, ambitious, and resourceful
  • Organized, open-minded, and capable of delivering tangible results in a fast-paced, creative environment
  • Positive, empathetic, collaborative, and trustworthy
  • Able to spot creative opportunities large and small
  • Knowledgeable in photography and video production, with strong typography, color theory, composition, print, broadcast, and digital communications
