Art Director
Job Description

This onsite Art Director role in New York, NY comes with a competitive annual salary range of USD 68,300 – 182,600 and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, bonus opportunities, paid holidays and paid time off. You will lead design projects from concept to delivery, uphold brand consistency, collaborate with the Creative team, and mentor junior designers, using typography, illustration and infographics to produce clear, compelling creative work.
Responsibilities
- Get up to speed with the campaign goals and target audience
- Partner with the Creative team to elevate the work
- Engage with internal marketing partners and team members
- Uphold high standards and release only top-tier work to clients
- Manage design projects from concept through delivery
- Create original visuals, including illustrations and infographics
- Review junior designers' work to ensure quality
- Enhance images, typography and layouts using design software
- Apply typography techniques to craft strong visuals
- Address complex creative challenges with thoughtful solutions
- Preserve brand consistency across all marketing projects
- Coordinate with marketing and design teams to meet deadlines
Requirements
- A portfolio of relevant work is required to be considered
- At least 8 years of experience developing creative content for events, marketing initiatives, or business communications
- Exquisite visual taste and storytelling ability from concept to craft
- Ability to work independently or in a group
- Proactive in sharing ideas and solving challenges
- Experience managing people, projects and resources
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire the design and meet deadlines
- Proficient with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or other visual design and wire-framing tools
- Demonstrable graphic design skills supported by a strong portfolio
- Aptitude for incorporating feedback and taking/giving direction well
- Team player with strong communication and presentation skills
- Empathy for the client or audience perspective
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Experience leveraging AI tools and image-generation platforms such as Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or similar as part of the creative process
