Adjunct Faculty: School of Arts & Humanities - Studio Art, Web Design, Graphic Design
Job Description
Cedarville University is seeking part-time adjunct instructors to support its undergraduate Art, Design and Theatre program through online and residential (on-campus) course offerings. This role spans Studio Art, Web Design, and Graphic Design, with an emphasis on teaching effectiveness, meaningful student feedback, and alignment with departmental and university instructional expectations.
Adjunct faculty will deliver instruction in accordance with established course materials and departmental objectives, helping students progress toward course learning outcomes. The position is based in Cedarville, Ohio, with a hybrid format that can include online and on-campus teaching.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in line with course objectives, the syllabus, and department-developed content for the Department of Art, Design, and Theatre
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students to motivate progress and support completion of course learning objectives
- Maintain academic credentials and ongoing expertise in the discipline being taught
- Adhere to University instructional standards
Requirements
- Hold an M.F.A. in Studio Art, Graphic Design, or Web Design, or a bachelor’s degree with active pursuit of an M.F.A.
- Demonstrate professional expertise and experience in the discipline, with a professional portfolio
- Provide documented evidence of successful teaching experience
- Have excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrate competency with online delivery systems, with preference for prior experience using Canvas
- Qualified applicants must be a born-again Christian
