3D Motion Design 1- Adjunct Faculty- Traditional Ground
Job Description
Grand Canyon University in Phoenix is seeking a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach 3D Motion Design 1 on its traditional, on-campus program. The instructor will deliver lectures, engage students with contemporary technologies and industry trends, and assess progress while exemplifying the university’s Doctrinal and Ethical statements and Mission.
Responsibilities
- Lead classroom lectures and discussions, applying innovative teaching methods.
- Expose students to cutting-edge tools and current industry trends.
- Evaluate student work and mentor progress toward their career goals.
- Model the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission for students.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in animation, motion graphics, 3D modeling, graphic design, advertising, or an equivalent degree.
- Knowledge of the 12 Principles of Animation.
- Understanding of how graphic design informs motion graphics.
- Awareness of motion graphics trends and the motion production pipeline.
- Understanding of typography and its use in motion work.
- Skills in modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering.
- Basic character rigging (IKs and controls) and particle effects.
- Proficiency with Maya, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Possible job titles that fit the criteria: Graphic Designer, 3D Animator, Motion Graphics Designer, Creative Director, Art Director.
- GCU does not provide software or hardware outside of campus classrooms.
- Ability to teach on the most current versions of Adobe and Maya software products.
- A portfolio of recent work is required with the application to teach.
