Job Description

Straight North, LLC is looking for a Web Designer to join our hybrid team in Downers Grove, Illinois. You will shape high-fidelity, responsive website designs and collaborate with cross-functional partners to align visuals with client goals and performance metrics. This role offers a salary of USD 70,000 per year and combines remote work with on-site collaboration in a dynamic digital marketing setting.

Responsibilities

Develop high-fidelity designs in Figma for new website projects and website support requests, balancing aesthetics, usability, and conversion-focused objectives.
Design responsive user interfaces that deliver seamless experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of approved designs and maintain design consistency throughout development.
Work closely with copywriters and project managers to align content, messaging, and visual design with client goals.
Present design concepts and rationale to internal teams and clients, incorporating feedback effectively.
Maintain and evolve design systems, style guides, and reusable UI components to improve efficiency and consistency.
Stay current on emerging web design trends, accessibility standards, UX principles, and responsive design best practices.
Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure projects meet established standards before launch.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience as a Web Designer in a digital marketing agency, web development agency, or similar fast-paced environment.
Strong proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto layout, prototyping, and collaborative workflows.
Strong portfolio showcasing responsive website designs across a variety of industries and project types.
Deep understanding of responsive web design principles, mobile-first design methodologies, and cross-device user experience best practices.
Solid understanding of UX/UI design principles, information architecture, and user-centered design processes.
Understanding of website conversion optimization and how design impacts lead generation and user engagement.
Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices.
Experience with landing page design and display ad design a plus.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
