Job Description

Medical Consulting Group, LLC is seeking a Web Designer to support the design, build, and ongoing care of client websites from its Springfield, MO office. This onsite full-time role centers on WordPress development, with additional support for WooCommerce stores, while keeping performance, usability, and design integrity at the forefront.

You will work across new builds and improvements, using modern page-building approaches and careful styling to deliver responsive, accessible websites. The role also involves collaborating with an in-house team to turn project plans into functioning, client-ready experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop responsive WordPress websites using page builders and themers.
  • Build and style WooCommerce stores, including product pages and checkout flows.
  • Customize layouts and modules with CSS to match brand-aligned styling requirements.
  • Create dynamic, client-editable content using conditional logic, flexible content fields, and custom options.
  • Update, maintain, and improve existing WordPress sites, including bug fixes, content updates, and plugin/theme maintenance.
  • Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and accessibility.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve layout, functionality, and compatibility issues.
  • Collaborate with the in-house team to bring projects to life.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional web design experience focused on WordPress.
  • Proven experience with dynamic page building.
  • Proficiency in CSS, including responsive layouts and custom styling.
  • Solid understanding of WooCommerce setup, styling, and user experience.
  • Skilled in responsive, mobile-first design practices.
  • Familiarity with WordPress theme structure and templating.
  • Create site maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity design mockups.
  • Experience using design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
  • Ability to manage multiple client projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and design-thinking skills with attention to detail and functionality.
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and direction.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure design translates into functional, responsive websites.
