Job Description

C Mack Solutions LLC is seeking a UI/UX Developer to help deliver user-centered, responsive, and maintainable interfaces for a mission-critical Federal Government program. This is an onsite role in Ashburn, VA 20148 (1 to 2 days per week onsite) where you will work in an agile environment, collaborate with cross-discipline teams, and contribute design artifacts that align with business objectives.

You will help create a cohesive look-and-feel across applications, build reusable layout and style libraries, and support quality and timeliness through unit testing and agile practices using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and GitLab.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user interfaces that address both business requirements and user needs
  • Drive a standardized, cohesive look-and-feel and user experience across applications
  • Create creative, user-focused experiences aligned with clients’ business objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to define and execute experience style guides, interaction patterns, and information design standards
  • Produce wireframes, mockups, and/or prototypes and communicate design ideas to stakeholders
  • Establish standard layout and style libraries across applications
  • Partner with functional teams to assess feasibility, refine requirements, and support design improvements
  • Ensure product quality and delivery timelines, provide guidance, resolve issues, and submit periodic performance reports
  • Work independently and efficiently in an agile development environment using tools and practices such as JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, unit testing, and Harness
  • Provide mentoring to junior team members
  • Work onsite in Ashburn, VA 1–2 days per week

Requirements

  • Live within the DC, MD, VA area
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must have an Active CBP Public Trust clearance
  • 5+ years of professional UI/UX development experience
  • Degree in a related field such as Interactive Design, Architecture, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, or Human Factors
  • Experience collaborating to create responsive, easy-to-use interfaces for real people across device viewports
  • Professional experience with enterprise UI design tools such as Figma (preferred) or similar
  • Experience communicating designs with stakeholders including product owners, end users, development teams, and management
  • Ability to weigh design trade-offs against technical feasibility and long-term maintenance
  • Proficiency building and maintaining web applications using React, Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, and web technologies including HTML, HTTP, and CSS (including Kendo UI)
  • Familiarity with Java and related frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot
  • Familiarity with the stack: Java 17, Spring/Spring boot, React, UI state management, Hibernate, PostgreSQL, Amazon AWS
  • Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment tools such as Harness, Jenkins, GitLab, or Bamboo
  • Ability to support responsive and mobile-first development
  • Ability to use data, validation, and feedback strategies to support code backed by qualitative and quantitative testing
  • Working knowledge of design tools to assist others and support process improvement (e.g., Figma, Axure, Sketch, Invision, XD, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with strong work ethics and self-starter capability
  • Willing to take risks and champion new ideas
  • Maintain a user-centered approach while respecting business needs
  • Able to work effectively in an agile design environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Design Thinking certifications such as those offered through IDEO, Stanford, Cornell, MIT, or other organizations
  • Proven experience designing for web accessibility (Section 508 standards)
  • Experience with information architecture
  • Ability and interest in educating others on user-centered design best practices
  • Advanced understanding of Lean processes and Agile principles

Location and Employment Notes

  • This position is limited to candidates residing in U.S. states where the company is currently registered to employ team members

Compensation

  • $85,000 – $120,000 annually
  • May be filled at the Mid or Senior level based on qualifications and experience
  • Final compensation determined based on level alignment, experience, education, and internal equity
