Job Description
Responsibilities
- Apply a user-centered design process spanning discovery, concepting, prototyping, and usability validation to deliver meaningful outcomes.
- Collaborate across disciplines within a multidisciplinary team to create solutions that prioritize users.
- Visualize and craft clear, intuitive interfaces and interaction patterns for complex devices.
- Frame design challenges with a strong emphasis on user needs and requirements.
- Develop and validate user strategies, innovations, and experiences in alignment with Philips Design Language System and brand guidelines.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, communicating design decisions openly and transparently.
- Embrace feedback and support colleagues to achieve shared goals.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design (graphic, interaction, new media), Design Research, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Five or more years of UX/UI design experience, including work on embedded, mobile, or desktop software devices.
- Interest in healthcare and personal health.
- Experience designing for complex systems in regulated environments, preferably healthcare.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and visual design skills.
- Collaborative team player with experience in agile development processes.
- Ability to meet the minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental requirements, with or without accommodations.
- Proficiency in Figma, Framer, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite (or similar tools), and MS Office.
- Fluent English communication, both written and verbal.

How we work together
We value collaboration and in-person teamwork. For office-based roles, we expect team members to be onsite for at least three days per week. Onsite positions require full-time presence in the company’s facilities, while field roles are typically conducted away from our main offices at customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

The pay range for this role in Cambridge, MA or Bothell, WA is USD 110,000 to 177,000 per year. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on knowledge, experience, and other factors. Additional compensation such as annual incentives, stock-based awards, or long-term incentives may be available. Philips Total Rewards encompasses generous PTO, a 401k plan with up to 7% match, an HSA with company contributions, a stock purchase plan, education reimbursement, and more. At Philips, compensation is not typically at the top end of the range; decisions are made based on the specifics of each case.
