UI/UX Designer

FPM Technologies seeks an onsite UI/UX designer for a North Chicago, IL position to advance a web and iOS application from an internal prototype toward a compelling and effective user experience for the target audience.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed wireframes, storyboards, and user flows to clearly communicate design concepts and interaction paths across devices.
• Present and defend design proposals to stakeholders from marketing, engineering, and executive leadership, outlining rationale and trade-offs.
• Suggest innovative design directions that balance novelty with practicality and feasibility.
• Prioritize design options that align with fast product timelines and development realities.
• Collaborate within an agile team environment that uses biweekly iterations to refine features.
• Perform user research and usability studies to evaluate design effectiveness and guide iterations.
• Design for a range of mobile devices, with an initial focus on iOS, incorporating responsive considerations.

Requirements

• UI/UX design experience totaling 3+ years for web and iOS applications.
• At least one application successfully launched in the App Store.
• Proficiency with design and mockup tools such as Photoshop, Omnigraffle, InDesign, Balsamiq, and InVision.
• Ability to work closely with UI development teams to deliver polished applications.
• Experience designing and conducting user and usability studies to inform design decisions.
• Experience with wellness and/or speech recognition apps is a plus.
