Staff Product Designer
Job Description
Ōura is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead end-to-end design for complex product experiences across multiple surfaces. This hybrid role is based in San Francisco, with an expectation to be on-site at least half-time, supporting design work that helps millions engage with their health.
Role Overview
In this position, you will define new experiences and elevate existing ones, working across consumer-facing product design, data-dense and technical systems, and emerging AI-powered capabilities. The goal is to turn complex, sensitive information into product experiences that feel clear, trustworthy, and human.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design for complex product experiences, driving initiatives from early concepts through polished, production-ready execution
- Navigate multiple problem spaces, including consumer experiences, technical and data-rich products, and new AI-powered features
- Translate complex, sensitive information into interactions that communicate with clarity and build trust
- Shape product strategy through design rationale and effective storytelling
- Raise the bar across the team through mentorship, critique, and sustained investment in colleagues
Requirements
- 8+ years designing digital products, with demonstrated range across surfaces and problem types, including high-craft consumer work and technical or data-rich products
- A portfolio showcasing exceptional visual and interaction design, including a track record of shipping end-to-end products
- Experience designing outside an established design system, ideally including building or scaling one from scratch
- An entrepreneurial mindset with ownership, the ability to create clarity in ambiguity, and momentum without waiting for permission
- Enthusiasm for AI as a design material, with proactive use of AI tools in the design process
- A team-first approach that focuses on improving both people and outcomes, with preference for shared success
- Fluency in Figma and modern prototyping tools and workflows
- Comfort working across distributed teams and across time zones
Location and Work Model
- Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid)
- On-site expectation: at least half-time
Compensation
Salary: USD 198,050 - 233,000 per year.
