SolidWorks Drafter - Product Designer

R&R Products seeks a SolidWorks Drafter - Product Designer for an onsite role in Tucson, AZ. This position centers on mechanical design, the development of complex assemblies, and comprehensive documentation using SolidWorks, with ERP and BOM duties. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience and an Associates Degree, with a salary range of USD 52,000 - 72,800 per year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical designs and complex assemblies to support the engineering function under general supervision.
• Evaluate and modify existing production drawings and assembly instructions as needed.
• Reverse engineer parts to determine function, material selection, and production procedures.
• Work with ERP database applications used for BOM management and related content.
• Create and modify detailed drawings in SolidWorks from sketches, layouts, actual parts, or notes.
• Check drawings for accuracy and conformance to applicable standards.
• Assemble, within SolidWorks, intricate mechanical systems.

Requirements

• Expertise in parametric design and tolerance principles.
• Experience with SolidWorks design software and PDM.
• Working knowledge of ANSI/ASME Y14.5.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, primarily Excel and Word.
• Proficient in the field of mechanical design.
• Proficient with the use of precision mechanical instruments (calipers, dial gages, CMM, etc).
• Strong computer skills required include spreadsheets, presentations, 3D CAD and ERP.
• Must have good organizational, time-management skills and ability to work on multiple projects at once.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, drafters, and others within the company as needed.
• Knowledgeable of parts manufactured in a machine shop facility (CNC lathe, milling, break press, laser cutting, tool & die, etc).
