Senior/Staff Product Designer
Job Description
ngrok is looking for an experienced Senior or Staff Product Designer to shape product experiences from early problem framing through shipped features and ongoing refinement. The role sits close to Product and Engineering, with a focus on translating technical depth into interfaces that feel approachable, while leveraging AI-augmented workflows to accelerate research, prototyping, and delivery.
What you’ll do
- Own meaningful areas of the product end-to-end, moving fluidly between research, prototyping, and delivery as the work evolves, from initial problem framing to features in users’ hands.
- Sketch, wireframe, and prototype quickly to test ideas early, then iterate toward outcomes that land in the product.
- Use AI tools to extend what you can build, prototype faster, synthesize research, and explore interaction patterns.
- Learn how developers use ngrok, identify where they get stuck, and define what improvement looks like in practice.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to clarify problems, explore solution paths, and shape strong product experiences within your areas of ownership.
- Apply strong judgment across interaction design, visual design, copy, edge cases, and implementation details.
- Facilitate discussions, align stakeholders, run lightweight research, and help decisions move forward.
- Share rationale and document key decisions, supporting Product and Engineering as they evaluate tradeoffs.
- Help strengthen shared standards, critique culture, and ways of working as the team grows.
What you bring
- 5+ years of product design experience at technology companies, with a portfolio showing strong visual design, research capability, and end-to-end product thinking.
- End-to-end execution, taking work from early problem framing through shipped and polished outcomes.
- AI-augmented workflow, actively integrating AI into concepting, prototyping, and research synthesis.
- Builder mindset, making ideas tangible quickly using sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to communicate, collaborate, test, and iterate.
- Strong communication, able to influence without authority and clearly articulate tradeoffs.
- Sharp instincts for learning, getting close to users and turning insights into a clear point of view.
