Job Description

Apple’s Video Applications team is building software experiences that help editors and filmmakers bring ideas to life across both online and feature workflows. In this onsite role in Culver City, you will shape how people move through complex creative processes by focusing on information design, interaction, navigation models, and visual design.

What you’ll do

  • Create tools that support editors and filmmakers from online video to major-picture workflows and everything in between.
  • Define innovative features and new products.
  • Partner with focused teams and apply deep design expertise to deliver polished experiences for Apple customers.
  • Own the information design, navigation models, behaviors, interactions, and visual design for the apps.
  • Produce high-fidelity mockups and prototypes.
  • Provide detailed, comprehensive UX and visual specifications.
  • Review design work with teammates and leadership.
  • Advocate for users when determining how new functionality should work.
  • Identify and articulate workflows and use cases.
  • Ensure usability across Apple platforms and devices.
  • Test and verify implementation of your designs.
  • Work toward products that reflect Apple’s standards for simplicity, accessibility, inclusivity, and quality.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, producers, writers, and product marketing specialists within and across Apple teams.

Minimum requirements

  • Strong balance across conceptual, experience, interaction, and visual design.
  • 5+ years of experience designing workflow-based features for mobile or desktop apps.
  • Fluency with iOS, iPadOS, and/or macOS design patterns.
  • Proficiency in modern design principles, methodologies, and tools for design and prototyping.
  • Ability to communicate concepts through prototypes, sketches, high-fidelity comps, and presentations.
  • Capability to quickly visualize ideas and deliver high-quality design work.
  • Enthusiasm for a collaborative, iterative design process and for group critique centered on workflow expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting work to large groups and executives.

Preferred qualifications

  • Degree in interaction design, experience design, industrial design, visual design, or a similar field is desired
  • Significant experience with video creation and editing
  • Significant experience working on creative tools and applications

Pay & benefits details

  • Base pay range: $184,700 - $324,800 per year
  • Base pay is determined within the range based on skills, qualifications, experience, and location
