Senior Product Designer-Mobile
Job Description
Handtevy is hiring a Senior Product Designer - Mobile to lead UX across mobile apps for phones and tablets.
Responsibilities
- Own mobile design end-to-end: move from problem definition through research, interaction design, testing, and engineering handoff for both phones and tablets.
- Design for real-world conditions: build responsive interfaces that work with gloved hands, across screen sizes, in moving vehicles, and under lighting from bright sun to dark roadside night.
- Advance and maintain the design system: work within the Pulse Design System by creating and updating mobile components, patterns, and guidelines to keep mobile and web consistent.
- Simplify complex clinical workflows: partner with product, engineering, and clinical experts to break down workflows, map user journeys, and clearly explain trade-offs.
- Validate and improve designs: run usability tests, heuristic reviews, and other research; apply learnings in each iteration.
- Help unify the experience across platforms: support select web app efforts so the overall Handtevy experience feels like one product.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product design experience; portfolio should include mobile app design, strong interaction patterns, and projects owned from concept to launch.
- Strong mobile UI craft, including visual hierarchy, typography, responsive layouts, and native iOS and Android patterns.
- Figma and design system experience: auto layout, prototyping, and variables; experience working inside an established design system with good judgment on adaptation vs. creating new components.
- Systems thinking: understand how screens, components, and flows connect; design solutions that scale across the product.
- Hands-on accessibility experience applying WCAG, including touch target sizing for a wide range of user conditions.
- Research and testing skills, including running usability tests and translating findings into product changes.
- Comfort with complexity: convert vague requirements and complicated workflows into clear, intuitive mobile experiences.
- Clear communication: explain design decisions with reasoning, push back on assumptions, and build trust across cross-functional partners.
