Senior Motion Designer
Job Description
Harvey is hiring a Senior Motion Designer to shape how motion comes to life across the brand and product storytelling. Reporting to the Head of Motion, this role builds scalable motion systems and creates high-leverage motion assets that help audiences understand complex AI product ideas.
Role Overview
The Senior Motion Designer defines a cohesive motion design language and delivers motion work across key creative touchpoints, from launch moments to ongoing product communications. The position emphasizes storytelling clarity, premium craft, and repeatable systems that enable faster production without sacrificing quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to Harvey’s motion design language across launch videos, product explainers, web and campaign moments, event assets, social cuts, sales enablement, and other high-impact creative surfaces.
- Develop motion concepts and produce storyboards, style-frames, animatics, and final motion assets that communicate complex AI workflows clearly and unmistakably in Harvey’s voice.
- Collaborate closely with Brand, Product Marketing, Product Design, Creative Operations, and other GTM stakeholders to translate positioning, product context, and user needs into motion narratives that can ship quickly.
- Create reusable motion systems, templates, animation principles, and production workflows to scale motion output while reducing reinvention across requests.
- Use judgment to scope work across a range of outputs, including polished hero moments, scrappy launch needs, quick-turnaround edits, and longer-term brand system investments.
- Increase the motion craft bar while also performing essential production tasks that keep pace with a fast-moving creative team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience creating motion for brand, product, marketing, launch, or education contexts, ideally within a product-led technology company or high-growth SaaS environment.
- A strong portfolio showing storytelling, art direction, animation craft, and visual systems thinking, along with the ability to explain the process behind completed work.
- Fluency with motion design tools and workflows including After Effects, Figma, Cinema 4D, Lottie, Rive, or comparable production tools.
- Proven ability to simplify complex concepts visually without overloading viewers, with strong instincts for pacing, sequencing, hierarchy, narration, and accessibility.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to clarify briefs, align with PMM or Marketing goals, manage competing feedback, and prioritize multiple stakeholder requests.
