Job Description

At Lumin Digital, a remote-first studio focused on compelling brand storytelling through motion, the Senior Motion Designer leads the full motion production cycle from concept through final delivery. You will shape motion across product marketing, web, social, and live events, establishing motion as a core brand pillar while building scalable systems and templates. This fully remote role offers a salary range of USD 115,000 to 135,000 per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead motion work from concept through final delivery for product videos, explainers, product launch animations, social content, podcasts, and event visuals.
  • Own the full pre-production process, turning ideas into clear motion beats through concepting and storyboarding before animation begins.
  • Translate technical concepts into concise narratives that are easy for a broad audience to grasp and remember.
  • Deliver web-ready motion assets with optimized outputs, proper file formats, and handoff specs to ensure seamless browser implementation with minimal rework.
  • Contribute to event assets for live conferences, including main stage visuals, screen content, ambient loops, and branded motion moments.
  • Edit video footage into polished, on-brand deliverables without requiring on-set shooting.
  • Build and extend Lumin’s motion design system, establishing principles, behaviors, and templates that enable others to work consistently.
  • Present work to non-designers with clear, well-communicated creative rationale and facilitate alignment with stakeholders.
  • Explore and apply animation and AI tools in the motion workflow, such as Jitter, Cavalry, Runway, Adobe Firefly Video, and Pika, to expand capabilities and efficiency.
  • Support digital design needs including presentations in Google Slides and select marketing assets in Figma.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Expert-level proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience delivering motion for the web, with a keen understanding of the gap between build and ship, plus expertise in file formats, compression, and developer handoff to preserve quality.
  • Strong Figma skills used regularly in daily work.
  • Solid pre-production craft, including concepting and storyboarding before animation begins.
  • Clear, proactive communication and the ability to present ideas to non-designers in an understandable way.
  • Active use of AI tools in the motion workflow, with practical experience in Runway, Adobe Firefly Video, or Pika, and a track record of shipped work that leverages AI where appropriate.
  • Genuine curiosity about the future of the motion discipline and a proactive approach to exploring new methods.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fully remote environment.
  • Low-ego, collaborative mindset that iterates gracefully and elevates the work.
  • Nice to have: Google Slides proficiency for presentation design and animation.
  • Nice to have: Experience designing for large-format event displays or live conference environments.
  • Nice to have: Background in B2B SaaS or complex tech product space.
