Job Summary & Key Priorities
The Senior Graphic Design Associate will play a central part in growing Active Minds’ brand with external audiences, including members, supporters, and the public. Primary channels include print and electronic collateral, the website, email, and social media. The position supports long-term branding initiatives and cross-functional projects that advance the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities
- Create representative graphics to strengthen the online brand display across diverse digital platforms.
- Integrate Active Minds’ visual identity into programmatic materials, store products, advertisements, and chapter and partner activities.
- Assist with applying branding to programmatic, donor, and cultivation events, including signage and print pieces.
- Lead design projects of increasing scope, with guidance from the Senior Visual Brand Manager on long-term initiatives.
- Support development of templates and other scalable efforts to grow the brand in a consistent, sustainable way.
- Provide visuals for Active Minds blogs, emails, and other communications channels.
- Coordinate with the Development team on social, print, and web elements of fundraising appeals.
- Produce rapid-response graphics for website needs, email assets, social content, partnership proposals, events, and more.
- Assist with archiving photos and videos across the organization.
- Help develop and update Active Minds branding guidelines.
- Review and proof materials to ensure adherence to branding standards.
- Support other designers on the team as needed, including serving as a backup when necessary.
- Collaborate with fellow designers on assigned projects.
- Represent the design team in meetings, including kickoff sessions, and help establish timelines and scope.
- Work with print vendors and other suppliers to deliver high-quality brand materials.
- Archive all brand materials according to Senior Visual Brand Manager guidelines.
- Research and identify existing collateral and design assets when required.
- Propose opportunities for design process improvements considering budget, capacity, and sustainability.
- Oversee Graphic Design interns as opportunities arise.
Requirements
- Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience demonstrated through a portfolio.
- At least two years of graphic design experience in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of design concepts with a focus on typography.
- Proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, plus Canva and other design tools.
- Experience designing both digital and print materials.
- Fully digitally literate, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online meeting tools.

Compensation
Salary range is USD 58,800 - 75,600 per year. The starting pay for this role is $58,800-$67,200, with the potential to reach $75,600 over time. The position is in the Active Minds Level 2 salary band and is exempt from overtime.
