Senior Art Director
Job Description
The Senior Art Director at Edelman (UEG) designs earned-first, social-by-design campaign ideas and leads the visual brand stories that support clients across 360 marketing efforts. The position focuses on culturally relevant concepts with the potential to drive national earned media from early conception through final creation.
Responsibilities
- Create and design campaign ideas for client projects and new business pitches with an earned-first and social-by-design approach
- Contribute to high-level concepting, tactical program ideation, and polished design across a range of 360 marketing campaigns, maintaining an earned-first mindset
- Own each client’s visual brand story, ensuring a consistent look, feel, and vision
- Communicate creative ideas effectively by presenting concepts, explaining rationale, and selling in solution specifics
- Collaborate with cross-functional agency teams across creative, account, production, technology, PR, strategy, planning, and analytics to deliver strong work
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, partnering across disciplines, leading and owning projects with support from Creative Directors, and communicating directly with clients
- Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams; take ownership from concept through execution; maintain strong attention to detail; and demonstrate an entrepreneurial, team-first mindset
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fine Arts, Advertising, or Graphic Design, or relevant work experience
- Strong design skills with proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Animation and video production experience is a plus
- Social-first literacy, with comfort executing work across formats such as an organic TikTok campaign and signage for a stunt or activation
- Ability to concept across multiple mediums including social, digital, print, TV, audio, experiential, and emerging formats
- Strategic thinking with the ability to conceptualize creatively and carry the concept through to polished design and build
- Strong communication design sensibilities, including understanding of composition, information hierarchy, color theory, and typography
- Proven creativity in interactive work with follow through from concept to build
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage work while meeting critical project timelines in a fast-paced setting
