Part-Time Print Production & Graphic Design Assistant

Nedd and Joi is seeking a part-time Print Production & Graphic Design Assistant in Bakersfield, CA. This onsite role supports both digital artwork preparation in Adobe Illustrator and hands-on production for custom stickers and labels, including file prep, equipment operation after training, and order finishing.

Role Overview

The assistant will prepare artwork for print, produce customer proofs, and help run digital printing, cutting, and laminating processes after receiving training. The position also includes routine equipment cleaning and basic support for common software and printer questions under guidance.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and update artwork in Adobe Illustrator, including resizing designs, changing text, and adjusting layouts.
• Prepare print-ready files, including adding bleed and cut lines (training provided).
• Create and manage customer proofs and organize approved artwork.
• Operate digital printers, cutters, and laminating equipment after training.
• Inspect printed stickers and labels for quality and cutting accuracy.
• Assist with order finishing tasks such as finishing, counting, packaging, and preparing shipments.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning and maintenance according to established procedures.
• Help troubleshoot basic software and printer issues with guidance.
• Maintain organization across materials, files, and the production area.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Basic working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong computer skills and comfort learning new software and equipment.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow job instructions.
• Dependability, good communication, and strong organizational skills.
• Willingness to support both computer-based tasks and hands-on production.
• Interest in learning printer operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Helpful Experience

• Experience with Photoshop, digital printing, Roland printers, or VersaWorks is helpful but not required.
