Motion Designer

Nen Creative is hiring a hands-on Motion Designer in San Francisco, CA to create concept-to-delivery motion for tech clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and animate motion work for launch videos, commercials, product explainers, social content, and brand campaigns
• Own projects from concept through final delivery using 2D, UI, typography, compositing, and edit-driven animation
• Translate creative direction and storyboards into motion that matches the intended tone, pacing, and feel
• Collaborate with producers, editors, designers, and directors to bring ideas to life
• Iterate quickly on feedback from creative leads and clients while protecting craft and quality
• Contribute to building and maintaining templates, presets, and motion systems to improve consistency
• Balance speed and quality across multiple projects and deadlines
• Maintain a strong attention to detail and a drive to refine work until it feels exceptional
• Stay current on tools, techniques, and trends that elevate the motion delivered

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a motion designer (studio, agency, or in-house creative team preferred)
• A strong reel showing range across product and UI motion, brand work, and edit-driven animation
• Expertise in After Effects
• Comfortable in Figma and Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve
• Strong visual fundamentals: type, layout, color, composition, and timing
• Clear point of view on motion (easing, transitions, restraint) and the ability to explain decisions
• Detail-oriented mindset and a consistent standard for getting things right
• Comfort iterating quickly based on feedback without losing momentum
• Experience in studio, agency, or fast-moving startup environments
• Self-directed and remote-ready: manage workload, communicate clearly in writing, and stay aligned across time zones
• Calm, organized, and dependable under pressure

About the Opportunity

• Create motion for a roster of tech clients across launch videos, commercials, product explainers, social content, and brand campaigns
• Work across 2D, UI, typography, compositing, and edit-driven animation (from polished hero sequences to fast social cutdowns)
• Collaborate with producers, editors, designers, and directors under direction from the Motion Design Lead
• Take ownership from concept to final delivery, iterating quickly on feedback and bringing craft to each frame
• Contribute ideas as projects develop in a hands-on, fast-moving studio
