Motion Designer

Monks is looking for a Motion Designer in Los Angeles, CA (hybrid) to develop engaging digital content, campaign assets, and motion-forward visuals. The work leans more toward animation than design, with opportunities to concept, design, and animate across social-first initiatives and integrated projects in partnership with Art and Creative Directors.

This role supports the full motion workflow, from early concepting through final execution, including the creation of materials that help teams align on direction and pitch animation ideas.

Responsibilities

• Animate digital marketing assets primarily for social media channels.
• Concept, design, and animate deliverables solo or as part of global teams.
• Create styleframes, style proposals, sketches, and mockups to kick off new work and communicate animation concepts.
• Design and build presentation decks that bring pitches and concepts to life.
• Convert creative briefs into clear, comprehensive design briefs.
• Explore and push creative boundaries to develop new digital designs and aesthetics.
• Set and maintain design styles to keep formats consistent across deliverables.
• Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and creative leads to produce integrated visual work at a high standard.
• Oversee the design process, offering fresh perspectives and solutions that improve overall quality.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience focused on motion design for digital and advertising.
• An exceptional portfolio showcasing both motion and static examples.
• Strong animation skills, with an emphasis on rhythm and timing.
• Proficiency in the Adobe suite, along with strong file and folder organization.
• Experience working across the full process, from concept through final execution.
• Understanding of design fundamentals such as typography, flow, and storytelling.
• Clear communication and time-management skills for effective collaboration with teams.

Location and Salary

• Location: Los Angeles, CA (hybrid)
• Salary: USD 76,000 - 83,000 per year
• Minimum experience: 3 years
