Job Description

Motion Designer needed to create brand driven motion assets for the Utah Jazz across game presentation, broadcast, social channels, and other touchpoints, collaborating with a team of designers across 2D and 3D tools in Sandy, Utah.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and produce motion elements for use across the organization’s brands.
  • Apply brand motion design principles with deliberate taste and consideration across diverse needs.
  • Self manage projects from inception to delivery when required; collaborate effectively with peers on other initiatives.
  • Engage with the marketing team to share research insights and new ideas.
  • Identify gaps in assets and processes and propose practical alternatives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technical innovations, and pursue continual learning.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment.
  • Think creatively to solve design and production challenges.
  • Maintain an emphasis on safety for employees, teams, and guests.
  • Uphold the company values of Transparent, All In, Community Obsessed, One Team, and Scrappy.
  • Protect the legal, financial, and moral well-being of the organization.
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.
  • Experience with 3D software is preferred, notably Cinema 4D and Redshift.
  • Strong foundation in graphic design, typography, and color usage.
  • Familiarity with Essential Graphics and MOTGR formats (MOGRTs).
  • Basic color correction knowledge; comfort with Lumetri Scopes or DaVinci Resolve is a plus; understanding of conversion and style LUTs.
  • Knowledge of Expressions within After Effects.
  • Experience with Dynamic Link within the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to sound mix or contribute to sound design is a plus.
  • Understanding of frame rates, codecs, resolutions, and other technical export specs for various outputs (social, TV, etc.).
  • 4 Year Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in a fast paced production environment.
  • Flexibility in schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience delivering quick turnaround projects.
  • Hands-on, proactive work style with a passion for design and creative processes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines; strong typographic eye.
