Job Description

At California State University, San Bernardino, an on-site, part-time Marketing and Communications, Graphic Design Student Assistant role is available. The position supports the Office of Marketing and Communications, collaborating with the graphic design team under the lead Graphic Designer to create print and digital materials that help tell the university’s story.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain a broad range of print and digital materials, including brochures, invitations, posters, and graphics for campaigns, with HTML email design and animation as part of the workload.
  • Keep project files organized and update production management software for assigned jobs.
  • Contribute to developing the university brand identity.
  • Design logos and stationery packages.
  • Attend weekly graphics meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher per semester and cumulatively.
  • Enrolled in at least half-time units at CSUSB (6 undergraduate units; 3 graduate units).
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB (12 undergraduate units; 6 graduate units).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.
  • Payroll requirement: Social Security Card.

Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Range: $16.90 per hour.

Position Information

  • Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
  • Application deadline extended to July 27, 2026 at 11:55 pm (PST)
  • Academic year hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
  • Summer hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm)
  • On-Campus Only position; student employees are not eligible to telecommute
  • CSU Out-of-State Employment Policy prohibits hiring outside California
  • CSU San Bernardino is not a sponsoring agency for staff or management positions (H1-B visas)

Background Check

Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment. CSU may issue a conditional offer of employment, which could be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information or if information provided is false. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect ongoing employment.

Driver’s License Check

A valid driver’s license may be required. Employees may be enrolled in the DMV Government Employer Pull Notice Program to confirm license status and driving record.
