Lead Motion Designer

As a Lead Motion Designer at Whatnot, based in Los Angeles with remote options, you will shape motion language and deliver production-ready 2D/3D work under tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with marketing, product, and communications to craft motion assets that align with campaign strategies and business goals.
• Concept and deliver top-tier 2D and 3D motion graphics for campaigns, events, product launches, and brand activations; manage projects end-to-end from concept to final delivery.
• Animate 3D models and scenes with precise timing, pacing, camera work, and storytelling.
• Influence visual direction, layout thinking, and design exploration; ensure motion drives the brand across digital and physical touchpoints.
• Collaborate across Cinema 4D, Adobe Creative Suite, and Figma to bring ideas to life.
• Advance Whatnot's motion language through experimentation, staying ahead of trends, tools, and creative best practices to keep motion fresh and culturally resonant.
• Deliver polished, production-ready work within tight timelines while maintaining a high standard of craft.

Requirements

• A portfolio featuring highly polished motion design work across brand, campaigns, and digital experiences.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
• Strong working knowledge of Cinema 4D and Redshift.
• Ability to produce refined, detail-oriented work under tight timelines.
• Comfort collaborating closely with designers, marketers, and creative leads to bring ideas to life.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset in a fast-moving environment.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on motion design experience.
