Junior Web Designer

This on-site Junior Web Designer role in Oakland, CA supports the design and development teams at Pixels Infotech as they move web projects from concept to launch, handling design, implementation and testing of final sites.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and ongoing maintenance of websites, internal intranet pages, and email marketing campaigns.
• Produce graphics and code that align with the organization’s style and brand identity.
• Convert visual prototypes into launch-ready HTML and frontend code.
• Test and debug pages across multiple browsers and platforms.
• Translate designs from Photoshop into functional HTML implementations.
• Support the broader Web Communication Strategy and participate in special projects.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

• An Associate's degree or two years of relevant work experience in web design and/or online advertising design.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, jQuery and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with or familiarity of Adobe Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Photoshop is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, a customer-service mindset, and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and communicate clearly to train staff and faculty.
• Solid understanding of current web design trends and techniques, plus a robust online portfolio demonstrating user-centered design.
• Familiarity with layout principles and aesthetic design concepts.
• Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
