Graphic Design Specialist
Job Description
This full-time, onsite role in Hampton, VA supports NASA SMD and the Space Technology Mission Directorate on the eMITS program at Langley Research Center.
Responsibilities
- Develop distinctive presentations, graphics, infographics, proposals, packages, reports, templates, and other deliverables using PowerPoint and Adobe tools.
- Perform quality control on design and content to ensure alignment with NASA style guidelines, brand standards, and best practices for the platform and audience.
- Translate complex data from technical documents into clear visual representations and reports.
- Collaborate with clients to define the asset vision, present a draft for review, and finalize the product.
- Provide creative and professional input by proposing design solutions for challenges encountered.
Requirements
- 8+ years of graphic design experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, illustration, industrial design, or a related field.
- Experience with social media content generation and analysis.
- Expert-level experience in digital delivery and print design.
- Extensive use of Adobe Creative Suite (expert knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop), Microsoft 365, and SharePoint.
- Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint, including template creation and embedding multimedia graphics and videos.
- Ability to interpret complex data into visually straightforward and engaging formats.
- Strong client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate concepts and solutions to non-designers.
- Solid foundation in typography, layout, and overall design principles.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and operate in a high-profile, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with NASA is a plus.
- U.S. citizen.
