Graphic Design / Production Specialist

The Graphic Designer and Production Specialist position at FASTSIGNS of Butler PA is an on-site, full-time role that blends hands-on sign production with production-focused graphic design and basic installations within a startup center.

Responsibilities

• Design for Production: Create computer-generated graphics, set up cut paths, establish proper bleeds, match Pantone colors, and prepare files precisely for output.
• Sign Production: Weed, tape, cut, and apply vinyl; laminate and mount prints to a variety of rigid substrates.
• Active Installation: Assist on-site with applying window graphics, mounting wall signs, and handling basic installations.
• All Hands on Deck Support: Answer phones, greet walk-in customers, consult on projects, and maintain an organized and clean production floor.
• Quality Control: Inspect physical jobs for accuracy before delivery, ensuring correct materials and precise machine settings.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of graphic design experience; experience in a sign shop or quick-print environment is a significant plus.
• Software: Highly proficient in Adobe Illustrator; familiarity with InDesign and Photoshop is helpful.
• Tactile Skills: Experience working with your hands using precise cutting tools (Exacto knives, rulers) or basic hand tools.
• Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in an unstructured, fast-changing environment and actively identifies tasks during slower periods.
• Physical Ability: Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs, work from step-stools or ladders, and view a screen for extended periods.
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
