Creative Principal and Art Director
Job Description
HDR seeks a Creative Principal and Art Director to lead cross-disciplinary visual strategy, translating cultural insights into strategic brand concepts, and guiding a high-performing team to drive growth and differentiation across markets.
Responsibilities
- Define the team strategy by setting clear vision and priorities for capabilities and culture, acting as a catalyst for heightened marketing impact across the business group and beyond.
- Guide, mentor, and grow an inclusive, high-performing team that values diverse skills and continuous learning, fostering a creativity driven culture rooted in experimentation, innovation, and shared growth.
- Turn emerging trends and insights into strategic concepts that strengthen brand relevance, engagement, and long-term value.
- Develop scalable and cohesive marketing, brand, and communications strategies implemented consistently across local, regional, and global contexts.
- Foster strong cross-functional partnerships to advance marketing strategies, enable multidisciplinary collaboration, and enhance organizational value and sustainability.
- Oversee creation of on-brand, compelling creative output that clearly communicates the firm’s core attributes and differentiators.
- Steer the strategic narrative from insight to execution to maintain clarity, cohesion, and effective translation of ideas.
- Establish and maintain standard marketing processes, workflows, and tools to improve efficiency, ensure quality, and extend the reach of visual communication.
- Manage the full creative production lifecycle, including project intake, workflows, asset management, and print operations.
- Develop strategic visualizations and data-driven storytelling tools that support internal alignment and adoption of brand and marketing strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum of 10 years of design experience
- Strong sense of design principles, including color and layout, with the ability to craft visually solid messaging
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present and clearly articulate concepts and design decisions to creative teams and clients
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office
- Ability to design within established standards and the firm’s visual identity
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to learn and grow, be self-motivated, and maintain a positive attitude
- Portfolio of relevant design work is required for consideration

Salary: USD 128,016 - 198,120 per year
