Commissioning Art Director - D&D

Hasbro Inc. is seeking a Commissioning Art Director to help shape a high-volume pipeline of Dungeons & Dragons artwork in Renton, WA. This onsite role focuses on sourcing freelance illustrators, providing consistent art direction, and keeping deliverables aligned with publishing timelines and brand standards.

As part of the creative team, you will commission work, maintain strong partner relationships, and support leadership through clear, regular updates. You will also collaborate with department leaders to inform future Dungeons & Dragons creative initiatives and workflow improvements.

What You’ll Do

• Commission a high volume of Dungeons & Dragons artwork by identifying freelance illustrators, delivering ongoing art direction, maintaining partner relationships, and providing frequent status updates to the Lead Art Director and Producer.
• Use a strong eye for detail and a solid understanding of artistic fundamentals to source and deliver high-quality artwork that meets publishing schedules and brand standards.
• Collaborate with department leaders and participate in brainstorms for future Dungeons & Dragons creative initiatives and process improvements.
• Present updates to leadership by showcasing work and clearly contextualizing it within the broader visual strategy.

What You Bring

• 2+ years of commercial art experience.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong creative vision with a cinematic lens.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to give and receive feedback.
• High attention to detail and strong organization skills.
• Deep knowledge of the current fantasy illustration market and talent, including modern print/press techniques and processes, with interest in discovering diverse, emerging artists.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook).

Compensation & Location

• Location: Renton, WA (onsite)
• Salary: USD 109,100 - 180,600 per year
