Brand Art Director
Job Description
Okta is hiring a Brand Art Director to shape the visual voice of Okta across organic social channels, helping turn identity and security stories into channel-native creative that performs. This hybrid role is based in Chicago, IL, with an estimated salary range of USD 143,000 to 196,900 per year. You will move at the pace of culture, bringing creative standards to how Okta shows up in the feed, including a key focus on “Okta Secures AI”.
Responsibilities
- Lead design for Okta’s organic social channels, carrying work from concept through published asset across static, carousel, and feed-first formats
- Build and evolve recurring creative formats so initiatives can be translated into channel-native content quickly
- Develop visually compelling concepts that communicate “Okta Secures AI” in ways that earn attention, engagement, and shares
- Infuse cultural relevance while maintaining a trusted, security-brand tone
- Create assets and formats for Okta’s social advocacy program so employees and partners can share Okta content through their networks at scale
- Collaborate with the video team to strengthen YouTube performance by designing high-impact thumbnails, playlist art, and supporting visual assets
- Evolve brand expression for social while protecting distinctive brand assets
- Test new formats and ideas, learn from engagement performance data, and turn findings into repeatable best practices that raise the bar
- Present creative direction to stakeholders and mentor designers contributing to social
- Stay current on platform changes and feed trends, then bring opportunities back to the team
Requirements
- A standout portfolio of social-first work that stopped the scroll, drove engagement, and stayed on brand
- Senior-level experience designing for social channels, ideally in-house at a brand or in a social-native environment, with a track record of leading work independently
- Expert command of feed-native design and platform best practices, including YouTube
- Demonstrated ability to design for engagement and sharing, including translating technical or abstract subject matter into something compelling
- Strong cultural instinct and judgment on how far to push creative relevance
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
- A test-and-learn mindset, including comfort experimenting, reading engagement data, and applying learnings to improve work
- Ability to work fast, iterate, and thrive in a high-trust environment where fresh posts are continuously needed
- Motion and video design experience is a strong plus
- B2B or technology experience is a plus
