Austin-based Audio Visual Design Engineer role translating client intent into build-ready commercial AV system designs.

Design complete commercial AV systems for spaces such as conference rooms, boardrooms, training areas, and enterprise collaboration environments
Produce AV signal flow diagrams, system drawings, and supporting documentation using Visio and/or CAD
Review project scope, proposals, and kickoff inputs; clarify technical requirements and assumptions by asking the right questions
Select AV equipment and define system architecture aligned with CTI standards, real-world constraints, and project budgets
Coordinate with Sales, Project Managers, BIM/CAD teams, architects/consultants, IT, and electrical stakeholders to keep designs coordinated and buildable
Provide technical direction and quality assurance on drawings so field teams can rely on what is documented
Support execution with answers and adjustments including field/programming guidance, procurement clarifications/substitutions, and design updates driven by site conditions or product availability

3+ years designing commercial AV systems (not entry-level, with strong signal flow skills)
Strong experience creating AV documentation and drawings (signal flow, system drawings, Visio/CAD)
Comfort selecting equipment and building solutions that are practical, buildable, and aligned to standards and budget
Communication skills that support cross-team coordination and clear translation of technical details
Collaborative, supportive work style with the ability to work independently when needed and ask strong questions
Associate degree preferred (not required); attitude and aptitude matter
