Audio-Visual Design Engineer
Job Description
Support the end-to-end planning and integrated design of audio, video, and control solutions as an on-site design engineer.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise for the architecture, installation planning, and integrated design of audio, video, and control solutions
- Produce high-quality technical documentation in alignment with Technical Services Standards
- Create and deliver CAD drawings, including flows, plans, elevations, and details
- Develop system descriptions covering equipment research, equipment research and selection, custom product design, and system integration
- Research and analyze the capabilities of available hardware and software options
- Design audiovisual systems using multiple hardware and software components that function as a single integrated system and address customer-specific requirements
- Assist throughout implementation by supporting projects and the team during the build and rollout process
Requirements
- 3+ years of Design Engineering experience is preferred
- Prior experience in the service and installation of audio, video, and presentation systems
- Knowledge of control systems: Crestron, QSC, Extron, AMX
- Knowledge of DSP platforms: Biamp, QSC, Clearone, BSS
- Ability to prepare, understand, and interpret advanced single-line diagrams plus architectural, construction, and electrical drawings
- Familiarity with project financial reports and the ability to help control costs in design and project management
- Ability to read engineering schematics and communicate design intent
- CTS and CTS-D certifications are a plus (not required with the right experience); other industry-related certifications or training also a plus (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Shure)
