Associate Commissioning Art Director - D&D
Job Description
Hybrid Associate Commissioning Art Director role with Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, supporting Dungeons & Dragons publishing through high-volume art commissioning and art direction.
Responsibilities
- Commission a high volume of artwork by identifying freelance illustrators and providing ongoing art direction
- Maintain strong relationships with art partners and share regular status updates with the Lead Art Director
- Build art direction capability through hands-on mentorship from Lead Art Directors
- Seek out and apply feedback to strengthen confidence, creative judgment, and ownership
- Use foundational artistic principles (with guidance and mentorship) to source artwork that supports D&D publishing schedules and brand standards
- Collaborate with fellow Art Directors and cross-functional partners to clearly communicate content needs and project updates
- Ensure commissioned artwork stays aligned with the creative vision set by Lead Art Directors
Requirements
- 1+ years of commercial art experience
- Portfolio that demonstrates creative vision with a cinematic lens
- Strong communication skills for giving and receiving feedback
- High attention to detail and strong organization skills
- Knowledge of current fantasy illustration and modern print/press techniques and processes
- Interest in discovering diverse, emerging artists
- Comfort with Adobe Photoshop and proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Collaboration and Work Setup
- Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the Renton, WA office
- Works closely with Lead Art Directors and cross-functional project partners

Location: Renton, WA (hybrid) | Salary: $83,000 - $124,500 USD per year
